As far as I know, people tend to like to eat sugary things, and most people in college and up like to drink alcohol. What’s even better than that? Mixing the two together. I recently read an article about a cullinary school student who came up with infusing the cake and icing used in cupcakes with different types of alcohol. The name of the startup is called Beer Cakes Philly. It’s the same idea as using wine reduction except that it can still make you tipsy. I thought this was pretty cool because I had always thought that cakes, at least the normal kind, were a little overdone with sugar, so why not introduce a little liquor into the mix to balance it out.
